The Invitation to Endless SHOCK
You may know Endless SHOCK. The name of the show is so famous that even the not Johnny’s Fan knows it. SHOCK is known for “the most difficult show to get the ticket in Japan” and of course it is known for its extremely exciting performance like Falling down the stairs, or the sword battle continuing over 15minutes and the 7 kinds of beautiful Flying. I am just a beginner for SHOCK. I firstly saw the show in 2012. But I strongly recommend you to see Endless SHOCK because I was so shocked when I saw it for the first time, and my way of seeing shows completely changed after seeing it. If you have never seen SHOCK, you must go and get the ticket as soon as possible by the end of March. You can get it!
So, today I want to talk about the invitation to Endless SHOCK.
The story begins at an off-broadway New York Theater. Koichi, Yara, Rika and their theatrical company play the season’s final performance. Koichi and Yara have grown up together and practiced dancing together. Koichi and Yara are best friends, but at the same time, they are rivals. One day, they get a chance to go On-Broadway Theater. Yara, who wants to play a gorgeous show, get excited to hear that, but Koichi do not. Yara feels antipathy or anger toward Koichi. Moreover, Yara loves Rika, who loves Koichi. This makes the antipathy toward Koichi stronger. The company used to be united completely, but now the harmony has gradually fallen apart. Then, Koichi decides to go On-Braodway Theater… That’s the beginning of the story.
There are too many highlights in Endless SHOCK to introduce you all of it. As I said, Falling down the stairs, or the sword battleand the 7 kinds of beautiful Flying. So, I gave up explaining how wonderful Endless SHOCK is. I can’t express.
So, today, I want to talk about some other things. About Rika and Naoki.
The role of Rika is performed by different actresses every year. The first year of Endless SHOCK, Kuroki Meisa performed as Rika. I saw 5 Rikas. Kanda Sayaka, Santos Anna, Iriki Mari, Miyazawa Emma, and Kominami Mayuko. It is very interesting because Rika’s character is different by each actress.
Kanda Sayaka, who is now very famous as Anna in Frozen, has beautiful voice. ONE DAY, the duet song between Koichi and Rika, is the most beautiful with Sayaka. You can hear her singing in the DVD of Endless SHOCK 2013.
Santos Anna, who used to be a member of Bon-Bon Blanco and now, get married to baseball player Mima Manabu, also has lovely voice, and her smiling is very attractive. I love her sunflower-like smile. You can see her performance in the DVD of Endless SHOCK 1000th Anniversary.
Iriki Mari’s Rika is rather cute than beautiful. But she has surprisingly flexible body. So her dance was beautiful and sometimes she looks sexy. She will appear on the stage of Peter pan this summer.
Miyazawa Emma, who is a granddaughter of former president, is very attractive. She has cute-looking but her singing is very powerful. She also performed in Dogfight. By seeing Dogfight, I became a big fan of her. Her next stage is Sister Act, so I’m thinking of seeing it.
Koninami Mayuko, who is performing now in Imperial Theater, is of course, lovely. She is young (the student of 東京音楽大学), but talented. She performed in レミゼラブル when she was 18 years old, and she was the youngest cast of theレミゼラブルhistory so far.
I’ve got interested in many actresses thanks to Endless SHOCK, and it may good for you to see some of their another show.
Finally I want to refer to Ishikawa Naoki, who is the great percussionist. He went to the US in 1988, and he brushed up his performance skill in the U.S. He became the only Japanese member of Blast! Blast! is highly evaluated Marching Band group in the World. I once saw the stage of Blast! and I was so impressed to see their great performance. So, Naoki’s performance was one of the reasons for me to see Endless SHOCK. He played very important role in SHOCK. I love all of Taiko performance in SHOCK, and especially I like the last scene ‘大桜’. The sound of percussion is so moving and stick to my heart.
As I said, It is impossible to say all of the appealing points of Endless SHOCK. So if you want to know more about Endless SHOCK, please read some magazines, someone’s blog, and especially I recommend you to read “エンターテイナーの条件”. But before that, please just see their live performance once. Then, I’m sure you cannot help going there again and again.
